chat – LAN-based, server-less chat!
Currently in open-beta, chat allows you to communicate with friends and co-workers over the Local Area Network (LAN) where you and your colleagues reside. By broadcasting messages over a broadcast domain, you can chat to anyone on the network without the use of a server or middle man. With the option to PM, you’ll be able to have one to one with whoever you want. Free of charge with plans to go open-source, this is a must have.

No, they have to go through a manual approval system, thus, your messages won’t appear until I’ve seen it.
