wondershaper
My sister likes to watch videos online which, conventionally, fucks up my gaming experience by upping the latency from about 30ms to ~300ms. I’ve finally implemented a solution which, at the expense of about 20KB/sec, allows me to game while downloading files/streaming over the Internet. It’s called wondershaper and, as illustrated, really does wonders on my network:

Latency under low network traffic.

Latency under network traffic (YouTube stream) without wondershaper.

Latency under network traffic with wondershaper.
As you can see, the average ping response time maybe slightly higher even with wondershaper enabled during a net stream, but it’s not much. This will really help when I want to download and play games at the same time. Thanks wondershaper!
